Noul

Aston Martin Rapide continuă linia de design cu care ne-a
obişnuit în ultimii ani marca exclusivistă, fiind, practic, un

Aston Martin Vantage cu patru uşi. Ceea ce nu este absolut
deloc un lucru rău, Rapide fiind deja pretendent la titlul
de cel mai reuşit coupe de lux cu patru uşi.

Principalele caracteristici pe care se bazează designul noului
Aston sunt Puterea, Frumuseţea şi Sufletul – cei patru pasageri au
privilegiul de a călători într-o atmosferă exclusivistă şi de mare
lux, la bordul unui grand-tourism stilat şi cu o istorie
aparte.

Prima oară, Aston Martin Rapide a apărut ca un concept la
Salonul Auto Detroit 2005. Faţă de acel concept, modelul de
serie a suferit foarte puţine modificări, iar, ca
mecanică, se bazează pe platforma „VH Architecture”, dezvoltată
pentru toate modelele Aston Martin.

Motorul
este un V12, construit manual, având cilindreea de 6,0
litri şi lăudându-se cu 477 CP/6.000 rpm şi un cuplu maxim
de 600 Nm/5.000 rpm. Transmisia se face prin intermediul unei cutii
de viteze automate Touchtronic 2, cu 6 trepte, având padele pe
volan pentru schimbarea secvenţială a treptelor de viteză.

Accesul în interior se face prin patru portiere „aripi
de lebădă” (din cauza faptului că au o deschidere puţin
înspre sus), iar universul interior este un amestec foarte reuşit
între un stil sportiv şi unul sobru, pielea şi esenţele de lemn rar
garnisind habitaclul. Fiind o maşină cu patru uşi, nu pierde nimic
la capitolul practic: locurile din spate sunt foarte comode, iar
portbagajul are o valoare de 301 litri, care poate ajunge
la 750 litri prin rabatarea spătarelor spate.

Vânzările lui Aston Martin Rapide sunt programate pentru
începutul lui 2010, preţul nefiind deocamdată comunicat.
